Personalized Onsies!

A friend from work and her mom started an online business selling organic cotton onsies and personalizing them. Lydia got to be one of the lucky toddlers to model for the site. Here are some pics.

Here is the tree and Lydia!

We put the tree up and Lydia was so excited and wanted to "redecorate" but finally she gave up after a week of removing items from the tree and handing me bulbs are ornaments all day. Surprisingly, nothing has broke yet.

OH so...pretty. No room for a star. Kind of got carried away on the "big tree" idea. Sad part is....its artificial and a foot too tall.

12 Days til Christmas

The year flew....again. I have been bad about posting and updating my blog. My new years resolution will be to update more often. These are 1 year apart. Babies grow up toooo fast and she continues to get blonder every day...

Lydia's Big Birthday Bash!

We had Lydia's big birthday party with a carnival theme. We had a lot of fun. We made snow cones and cotton candy for all of the kids. We bought some inflatable toys for the kids too. The mini-football field was a big hit and so was Lydia's 4 wheeler.

Lydia's Birthday Party

Lydia lucked out and opened her birthday presents early from us so she could enjoy them at her party with her friends. She got a battery operated 4-wheeler (which was her favorite gift), a blow up football field, and a table and chairs set.

Lydia's First Oreo Cookie Experience

We gave Lydia an OREO for the first time this Saturday morning, before her big "carnival" birthday party. I think she had fun smearing it all over!

Week of Vacation!

Lydia fell asleep eating lunch for the first time at home....
all this vacationing has been catching up with all of us.

This is Lydia & I getting a pedicure back in Cresco at Total Look.....she just wouldn't sit and play with Aunt EJ anymore! So she reorganzied most of the salon and then we read a book while I got pretty toes and feet. Thanks Megan!

We stopped to visit David Godman (cop friend of Tom's from Cresco) when we were back home .....Lydia made a new friend Emma.

Great Grandma Kappes made Lydia a birthday cake,
so we had a trial run on Saturday night.....

the classic angel food, strawberries and ice cream! Yummy!

Now we are back to work Monday and the two weeks of vacation are over, can't wait til next year! Stay tuned for Lydia's big birthday party next week~

Okoboji Vacation

We spent the week of July 15th-19th in Okoboji on our first official family vacation. We stayed at Bridges Bay Waterpark Resort. Very nice! We had a great time....Caitlyn & Lydia had a blast at the waterpark and in the pool. I think it may be an annual vacation spot. The first night we ordered pizza and here is a pic of

Then she thought she would change the filter....what can I say she is a busy little girl and was in "new territory" and had to check out everything!

We spent one day at Arnold's Park. Lydia went on her first carousel ride with Tom & Caitlyn. Lydia and I watched Tom & Caitlyn on the rest of the rides. Tom didn't feel so "hot" by the end of the night....couldn't keep up with Caitlyn or Lydia I guess?!

Here is a picture at lunch time. We took a break from the water park to have some sandwiches in the room.....we learned that Lydia loves meat, cheese & crackers.

And.....the last day we checked out and headed for the beach....Lydia had her new sand toys ready to go!

We had to get some Cotton Candy at the fair, and Lydia wasn't the biggest fan. I think she was confused why we were encouraging her to put "cotton stuff" in her mouth. She just giggled.....

Chubbiest Cheeks!

We entered Lydia into the baby contest at the Shelby County Fair here in Harlan on Saturday and Lydia won the chubbiest cheeks category. We thought this was the best category to enter her in.....It will be her first blue ribbon to add to the baby book.

Now that Lydia is walking/running it is a game to get her dressed after bath time. If you turn for a second to grab something she is off and laughing at me....little fart!
